During a recent tour of the Riverland region, Deputy Premier Hon Susan Close made a notable stop at Calperum, where she immersed herself in the landscape’s rich ecological and cultural projects. Accompanied by Calperum ecologists, she explored the wetlands and surrounding areas, gaining firsthand insight into the vital conservation efforts underway
The Deputy Premier also engaged with the passionate ranger team and learned about the site’s innovative education and community engagement programs, as well as the facility upgrades planned under the Calperum Infrastructure Masterplan 2030.
Impressed by the diversity of ongoing projects, Deputy Premier Close reaffirmed the South Australian Government’s ongoing commitment to supporting Calperum’s efforts.
The visit concluded with a relaxed morning tea, where Susan had the chance to enjoy Calperum’s signature Saltbush Damper—a fitting end to an inspiring day.
